Ferguson Enterprises, LLC. is launching a Credit Trainee program designed to accelerate early-career professionals in credit.

The 8–12 month program includes hands-on learning across warehouse, sales counter, and field activities to provide an entry-level understanding of extending credit to trade professionals and building customer relationships. Participants will receive mentoring and coaching from credit leadership, with opportunities to advance to Area Credit Manager roles.

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years work experience post bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including face-to-face conversations, conversations by phone, and presenting in front of groups.
  • Ability to build relationships with high emotional intelligence and people skills is a must.
  • Willingness to learn and be part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the 8–12 month Credit Trainee program across warehouse, sales counter, and field activities.
  • Assist in extending credit and building customer relationships through interactions with trade professionals.
  • Engage with sales and customers to support credit decisions and portfolio growth.
  • Relocation and training location in Brooklyn, NY with potential regional relocation after program.

Our Program: The Credit Trainee program is designed to accelerate your career in credit by teaching you the basics. We will provide mentoring, coaching and on the job learning with a strong commitment by our credit leadership team to be there for you every step of the way! This is an 8–12 month program where the associate is active in the operation of the business. This includes time in the warehouse, on the sales counter, riding with delivery drivers, shadowing operations, visiting and/or leading meetings with customer, and learning the technical aspect of the extension of trade credit. Upon successful completion of the program, the associate will have an entry‑level working knowledge of how to extend credit to the trade professional and build customer relationships.

Qualifications:

Career Path:

We are preparing the associate to be a functioning Credit Manager. The Credit Manager will own a portfolio of accounts with millions in account receivable, where they will be responsible for the extension of credit and collection of the A/R. They will be expected to be engaged in the business, build relationships with customers and sales, visit customers on an ongoing basis, and grow business while achieving an acceptable return on receivables investment. The Credit Manager will report to the Area Credit Manager. A successful and highly functioning Credit Manager will move forward into the Area Credit Manager role, where A/R responsibilities will increase and where there is an opportunity to manage people. Ferguson is a nationwide company. Your initial training location will be based in Brooklyn, NY for the first 8-12 months. You must be open to relocation after your training program. The ability to be open to living in a new location and being adventurous is required! We will provide a relocation allowance at that time. We can look at the region you prefer or if open across the US.

Pay Range:
  • - $28.85 - $43.26
  • - Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
  • - This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
  • - Ferguson complies with all wage regulations. The starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements.
