Job summary

AB is seeking a Fixed Income Trader for its Investment Grade Credit Desk in Nashville, reporting to the Head of US HY Trading. You will work with senior traders, portfolio managers, and researchers to understand markets and contribute to investment decisions.

You will execute trades, source liquidity, and help drive efficiency across the trading and investment process while mitigating operational risk and sharing insights in regular strategy discussions.

Who You’ll Work With:

We are seeking to hire a Fixed Income Trader on our Investment Grade Credit Desk as a part of the Global Fixed Income Trading team. This is a role with significant opportunity and expectation to add value to our business through contribution to both our IG investment teams as well as the broader credit and FI platform. The position will report to the Head of US HY Trading and work closely with other senior bond traders across Fixed Income as well as portfolio managers, analysts, and quantitative research.

This position will be based in Nashville. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with investment professionals in New York, Nashville, London and Hong Kong.

What You’ll Do:

• Developing and enhancing over time an in-depth understanding of fixed income markets, as well as our investment philosophies and strategies of the portfolios
• Executing orders and sourcing liquidity in a manner consistent with our best execution and risk management practices, as well as our policies and procedures
• Help drive the investment process by working closely with senior traders, portfolio managers and analysts, and sharing market views in weekly and monthly investment strategy discussions
• Work closely with senior traders across the business on projects that enhance efficiency in the trading and investment processes and mitigate operational risk
• Gathering, analyzing, and disseminating market and security information to identify actionable trade ideas and investment opportunities
• Representing AB with the street, fostering new sell-side trading relationships and leveraging existing relationships

• Strong analytical skills and an ability to apply those skills in a highly practical fashion
• A self-starter with an attitude and practice of proactive idea generation and continuous review and improvement of our processes
• Strong academic credentials; with a bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, or a related field
• 2-5yrs experience in a credit trading role, with a preference to IG or HY US markets exposure
• Experience leveraging top LLM models to unlock unique insights that are incorporated in data driven process
• Programming skills a plus but not required; Python & SQL primarily
