Hours:

Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) (Additional hours as necessary to meet the objectives of the department

Function:

Responsible to ensure Internal Credit Risk Review Department ("CRR") systems and data practices are functioning consistent with regulatory guidance and expectations given its second line independent oversight role as well as the Bank's credit risk profile and complexity of credit exposures within its commercial and consumer banking loan portfolios.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages credit risk review systems (including Crowe 360, etc.), processes, and data, which uses the commercial risk rating/consumer methodology. Ensures proper design and content to provide a consistent and well-documented credit risk review that aligns with Board approved risk classifications and regulatory guidelines. Responsible for actively managing systems and data. Aids with any implementation involving a revised credit rating system through senior management and designated staff of the Credit Risk Review, Commercial Banking, Credit Administration, and Managed Asset departments.
  • Develops and maintains portfolio management analytics (i.e., key risk indicators) for monitoring credit risk and Board reporting. Risk rating reports aggregate, stratify risk, and describe risk trends within the portfolio which are critical to credit risk management and strategic decision making to ensure the Board Credit Risk Committee fulfills its risk oversight responsibilities.
  • Provides assistance to Credit Risk Review Management in dealings with regulatory examiners, internal/external auditors during examinations, and audits in regard to data gathering and processes involving reporting. Responsible for staying abreast of any changes in regulatory or internal guidance.
  • Provides risk management insights and assists in the development of the annual risk -based Credit Risk Review Plan for the commercial and consumer loan portfolios to be approved by the Board Credit Risk Committee.
  • Develops and maintains a Consumer Credit Risk Review work in process system (in conjunction with CRR staff) capable of generating reporting, documenting internal reviews, and pulling data metrics to support Consumer CRR staff and Management.
  • Evaluates the adequacy of the current metrics within the credit risk review department, recommends Key Performance Indicators and Key Risk Indicators to management. Reviews and reports data from all key indicators for use with Credit Risk Review yearly plan, staffing, Enterprise Risk Management Committee, etc. Provides feedback to CRR Management as part of the annual performance evaluation process.
  • Maintains active, ongoing relationships and collaborates with the Director of Credit Risk Review, the Commercial and Consumer Credit Risk Review Managers, senior management within Commercial Banking, Credit Administration, and Managed Assets in the execution of their duties and responsibilities, as appropriate.
  • Provides support for Credit Risk Review team to perform various types of reviews to ensure compliance with established policies and underwriting guidelines. Independently validates the appropriateness of the risk rating assigned along with the corresponding support and documentation. May be called upon to help with various types for reporting and data work across a broad range of credit functions within the bank which may include but are not limited to: Treasury Management, SWAPs, Overdrafts, consumer, and commercial lending, etc.
  • Provides broad assistance within the Credit Risk Review Department by assuming projects as assigned, the results of which may entail a high level of importance relative to effective risk management oversight or meeting regulatory expectations.
  • Understands and advocates the use of technology to improve processes and the overall efficiency and effectiveness of Credit Risk review activities.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with all Bank employees. Demonstrates the ability to work independently. Works as a team player to contribute to the success of the department and in turn the organization.
  • Exhibits accuracy, initiative, interpersonal skills, and confidentiality while performing tasks in order to contribute to the success of CRR and the organization.
  • Requires critical thinking, judgment, problem solving, and accuracy.

Education:

Position requires a four-year college degree or equivalent, with preferred area of specialization in Business, Finance, and data analytics.

Experience:
