As a Credit Risk Review Advisor Senior within PNC's Independent Risk Management organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh PA, Cleveland OH, Philadelphia PA, Birmingham AL or Raleigh NC.

The primary objective of Credit Risk Review (CRR) is to conduct timely and independent assessments of PNC’s credit exposures and credit risk. Results from CRR’s assessments are provided to senior management and PNC’s Risk Committee of the Board of Directors. As CRR Advisor Senior you will join a highly skilled team providing independent assessments of PNC’s Commercial credit exposures. You will independently assess sampled borrowers’ risk rating accuracy, underwriting quality, monitoring and policy compliance, identify emerging risks and trends, and produce well supported documentation and recommendations in collaboration with internal partners to uphold the integrity and continuous improvement of the Credit Risk Review function.

You may have responsibility of being a Reviewer in Charge. The Reviewer in Charge is responsible for the successful completion of a review engagement, including managing Reviewers, performing credit portfolio analysis, summarizing the results stemming from the review of credit files sampled as part of a review engagement. Your deep understanding of sound Commercial lending and credit risk practices will enable you to provide valuable insights and recommendations to drive effective credit risk management practices.

Preferred Qualifications: Robust credit knowledge and strong experience related to Commercial credit extension and management. 8+ years of Credit Risk/Credit Underwriting preferred, specifically dealing with larger, more complex transactions in Commercial & Industrial, CRE, Corporate Banking, Leverage Lending, Middle Market, etc. Strong verbal and written communication, in addition to ability to handle difficult conversations, are critical to effectively communicate with stakeholders. Job Description
  • Executes file review assessment on complex credit and credit related transactions, including credit facility structures and underwriting processes, with an expert knowledge of credit policies and procedures. Understands inherent risk and the materiality of risk for credit transactions. Validates scorecard risk ratings, and borrower credit administration. Ensures understanding of portfolio issues, trends, and root causes in order to manage credit portfolios effectively.
  • Independently completes work papers, issue tracking, supporting documentation, follows up on exam findings with business leaders, and acts as a Second Level Reviewer. Effectively communicates credit risk reviews objectives, outcomes and recommendations for issue remediation as needed.
  • Analyzes risk in assigned credit portfolios by reviewing relevant reporting and assessing trends. Provides expert analytical insight and identifies risk concentrations, systemic trends, or issues. Participates in continuous monitoring for assigned portfolios.
  • Oversees file review activities of reviewers as Reviewer in Charge for assigned business segment(s). Perform assessment of file review results and findings to determine final ratings and drafting of review reports. Serves as an expert resource to the team.
  • Expert understanding of the credit cycle and economic indicators' impact on key driving metrics. Demonstrates expert knowledge of where and how to leverage industry/economic research tools into the review.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $80,000.00 – $167,000.00. Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
