Description du poste

Firm Risk Management (FRM) at Morgan Stanley partners closely with business units across the Firm to support sustainable growth, efficient risk‑adjusted returns, and the protection of the Firm’s balance sheet. Credit Risk Management (CRM) plays a critical role in this mandate by providing independent yet commercial credit oversight across a broad range of business activities.

This role sits within the Credit Risk Management team responsible for highly structured lending transactions secured by operating businesses, franchise royalties, and digital infrastructure assets such as data centers, fiber networks, and other project finance‑style assets. The position offers exposure to complex, innovative financing structures and close engagement with senior stakeholders across the Firm, including Origination, Structuring, Legal, Syndication, and senior Risk leadership.

The ideal candidate combines strong credit fundamentals with commercial judgment, thrives in a fast‑paced transaction environment, and is motivated by the opportunity to influence complex financing decisions at scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary credit risk coverage for structured lending, warehouse facilities, and asset‑backed financing transactions collateralized by franchise royalties, digital infrastructure, and project finance assets.
  • Lead end‑to‑end credit evaluation of new transactions, including review of financial statements, cash flow models, diligence materials, legal structures, and third‑party reports; partner closely with business units to ensure credit risk considerations are integrated into transaction structuring and strategic decisions.
  • Assess and approve amendments, renewals, waivers, collateral additions / releases within an assigned portfolio.
  • Distill complex analyses into clear, well‑reasoned credit assessments and internal approval memoranda for senior Credit officers, Firmwide committees, and quarterly portfolio reviews.
  • Establish and maintain internal credit ratings, risk limits, and ongoing monitoring frameworks aligned with the Firm’s risk appetite.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, covenant compliance, and early warning indicators; elevate risks proactively and thoughtfully.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders including regulators and internal audit as appropriate on transaction‑specific and portfolio matters.
  • Contribute to the training and development of junior team members and foster strong risk discipline across covered businesses.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in credit risk, covering structured finance, project finance, or specific/general corporate industries.
  • Strong experience analyzing cash‑flow based structures, leverage profiles, downside scenarios, and stress cases.
  • Familiarity with structured transactions, securitization‑style financings, or complex collateral packages preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple high‑priority workstreams in a dynamic environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with a balance of independence, judgment, and ownership.
Compensation

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $210,000 at the commencement of employment. Base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short‑ and long‑term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
