Job summary
Coinbase is offering a 12-week summer internship within the Credit Risk team of the Finance function. You will support underwriting, monitoring, and analysis of counterparty and asset-level credit risk for the global institutional client base, gaining hands-on experience shaping risk decisions and reporting.
You'll work with risk professionals and product teams, focusing on underwriting diverse counterparties and monitoring exposures, while learning crypto market dynamics and regulatory
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with expected graduation December 2027 or later.
- Interest in financial markets with coursework or projects on credit analysis or risk concepts.
- Proficiency in Excel/Sheets for quantitative analysis and data summarization.
- Familiarity with crypto economy or ability to learn new financial product domains.
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflows.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite institutional counterparties and recommend internal credit ratings and risk-based limits with substantiation.
- Monitor exposures and conduct portfolio reviews to flag concentration risks for leadership.
- Analyze asset volatility and liquidity risks to support lending and trading decisions.
- Collaborate with product, sales, operations, and legal teams to resolve risk challenges.
