Columbia Bank in Phoenix is seeking a senior leader to manage the Credit Risk Review Examiners and oversee independent loan reviews, including large and complex credits. You will ensure adherence to bank policies, underwriting standards, and regulatory guidance while accurately identifying risk in the internal loan risk rating system.

Under the guidance of the Credit Risk Review Director manages the departments Credit Risk Review Examiners in completing the independent loan review activities. Provides an independent review and risk assessment of non-Homogeneous loans, including some of the bank's largest and most complex loans, ensuring adherence to Bank credit policies, underwriting guidelines, and applicable regulations, as well as determining that risk is accurately identified via the Bank's internal loan risk rating system. Periodically also responsible for managing reviews of loan portfolios; coordinating workflow for a team of review officers, summarizing results, and communicating issues of concern to bank senior management. Provides input to the Credit Risk Review Director for the annual operating and staffing plan for the department. Participates in the development of the departments Universe Risk Assessment tool and annual exam plan. Responsible for review and recommendation of assigned staffing actions; monitors staff activities; oversees staff training; provides staff mentoring. Coordinates the department’s workflow and staffing assignments with the Credit Risk Review Director Directs assigned review activities; drafts department policies and procedures; reviews/approves project plans, samples, results, and draft reports for assigned areas of responsibility. Reviews risk rating concurrence actions as assigned. Develops/Contributes to the materials provided to the Audit Committee Collaborates and consults with Wholesale Banking, Credit Quality Administration, Enterprise Risk, Internal Audit and others to ensure timely, proactive, and inclusive dialogue about credit risk issues and controls. Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes. Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training. Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description. May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert. Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Columbia corporate culture in all actions and words. Education Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field (preferred) Experience 7-10 years — of experience in banking, commercial credit, and business financial analysis, with department oversight/personnel management; prior commercial loan review experience preferred. (Required) Skills Extensive and varied experience in commercial and consumer credit products. Knowledge of banking regulations and accounting rules; regulatory guidance specific to the internal credit risk review function. Advanced skills in financial analysis. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Ability to interact and clearly communicate at all levels of the organization. Proven skills at developing strong relationships with , staff peers, and leadership. Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, with strong skills in conflict resolution, performance management, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

The pay range for this role is $117,000.00 to $180,000.00. The pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
