Job summary

Township High School District 214 Community Education Foundation seeks an energetic Building Aide to support students and teachers in a high-needs middle/high school setting. The role focuses on reinforcing instructional goals, supervising non-instructional activities, and assisting with field trips and parent contact as needed.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, with preferred progress in college coursework and experience with special needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of college coursework or exam per NCLB requirements.
• Experience with special needs students is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction.
• Work with students individually and in small groups.
• Assist with administering and correcting classroom exercises and assessments.
• Support instructional materials and activities according to student needs.
• Record student learning and performance data.
• Assist with classroom behavior management to maintain a safe, orderly environment.
• Supervise non-instructional areas such as lunch, bus, playground, study hall, and field trips.
• Support parent communication to foster involvement.
