Position Overview

Obra Capital is seeking a Credit Quant Developer with 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong focus on back-office and operational systems. This individual will play a key role in the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of applications supporting core investment, operations, and finance workflows. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience building and maintaining systems related to security master data, position management, profit and loss (P&L) reporting, and operational inquiries. This role will work closely with investment, operations, finance, and risk stakeholders to deliver reliable tools, data models, and reporting solutions that support a growing and complex platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain internal applications supporting risk and valuation of securities across Structured Credit and Private Credit.
  • Maintain internal models to generate cash flow and risk across various private credit assets.
  • Build and enhance data pipelines, data warehouses, and reporting layers to present portfolio risk across the organization.
  • Develop both front-end and back-end components of software solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and data integrity.
  • Address ad-hoc data requests and inquiries by creating customized reports and analytical views.

  • Partner with operations and finance teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, including spreadsheets, dashboards, and automated reporting tools.
  • Address ad-hoc data requests and inquiries by creating customized reports and analytical views.
  • Support ongoing system enhancements, troubleshooting, and optimization of existing applications.
  • Contribute to documentation, testing, and best practices for development and deployment.
Required Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Python, C#, and SQL for application development.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and building applications from the ground up, including data warehouse architecture.
  • Experience developing both front-end and back-end components of software solutions.
  • Solid understanding of financial systems and workflows related to trading, booking, and downstream operational processes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience with Excel VBA is a plus.
  • Familiarity with fixed‑income instruments and valuation concepts is advantageous but not required.
Additional Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience within financial services, asset management, or a related environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high‑quality results in a fast‑paced environment.

Compensation

Compensation: The expected base salary range for this role is outlined below. In addition to the base salary, total compensation may include a discretionary bonus based on performance. This range given is a best faith estimate which reflects a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, education, location and other qualifications pertinent to the position. Base salary does not include any other performance‑based compensation such as year‑end cash bonus.

$150,000 - $225,000
