Job summary

Cogent Bank is seeking a Credit Officer to assess creditworthiness and document loans, ensuring timely capital deployment and regulatory compliance. You will analyze loan applications, review financials, and mitigate weaknesses while delivering best-in-class customer service.

Responsibilities include underwriting new and renewal loans, managing reports, and supporting policy development. A Bachelor’s in business/finance is required and MBA is preferred; travel to outside markets may be necessary.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in lending/credit in a financial institution.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance; MBA preferred.
• Strong analytical and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites loans including renewals and annual reviews; solely responsible for reports.
• Pulls credit reports and OFAC checks; ensures compliance.
• Assists in policy and procedures writing for lending/credit; supports senior officers.
• Represents deals in term sheet sessions with Chief Credit Officer and Senior Credit Officer.
• Willingness to travel to outside markets as needed.
