Bank of America seeks an experienced Credit Officer to manage client relationships and related credit products within the energy sector. Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered, or a related Finance occupation.
  • Credit Officer evaluates large and sophisticated credit exposures across oil & gas, midstream, refining and marketing, oilfield services, and power & utilities sectors.
  • Strong understanding of energy market dynamics and Energy industry-specific risk factors, financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and commercial credit, credit structures, cash management and traded products.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with relationship management and product partners to assess clients’ credit needs and create solutions.
  • Leads loan structure conversations and negotiates loan documentation with clients and internal/external legal partners.
  • Drives credit and risk approval processes for new credit originations, renewals, increases, and modifications.
  • Leads ongoing monitoring efforts for a portfolio of clients in compliance with regulations, policy and procedure.
  • Drives the growth of funded loans and revenue while mitigating risks, maintaining asset quality and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Serves as an escalation point for complex credit transactions.
  • Mentors and supports associates.
  • Negotiates credit and trading documentation, including loan credit agreements and amendments, ISDAs, and CSAs.
  • Establish appropriate internal risk ratings for clients and implement accurate adjustments throughout the client’s credit lifecycle.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage internal relationships with various business partners, including those in Corporate and Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, Risk Management, Syndications, and Legal

Job Description:

This job is responsible for managing clients and related credit products, partnering closely with relationship management, sales/trading, treasury management, operations and risk teams to support the client relationship. Key responsibilities include underwriting, monitoring, managing operational needs and/or client requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of criticized and classified assets by providing analysis and formal credit recommendations.
  • Partners with Relationship Managers, and Risk partners to facilitate timely credit decisions
  • Ensure compliance with lending policies, credit procedures, and regulatory expectations
  • Strong understanding of energy market dynamics and Energy industry-specific risk factors, financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and commercial credit, credit structures, cash management and traded products
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related experience
  • Strong ability to assess credit risk, evaluate complex lending structures, and recommend appropriate terms, covenants, and collateral requirements.
  • Expertise in analyzing financial statements, cash flow projections, leverage, liquidity, repayment capacity, and overall borrower creditworthiness.
  • Knowledge of energy transition trends , and evolving regulatory requirements.
