Job summary

Velocity Vehicle Group’s VelocitySBA division seeks an experienced SBA loan underwriter to assess 7(a) applications under supervision of Credit Team Lead/Manager. You will spread financials, review third-party reports, and prepare credit memos aligned with policy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of SBA 7(a) loan underwriting and spreading.
• Strong speaking and presentation skills.
• Basic understanding and knowledge of SBA eligibility and guidelines.
• Ability to identify and mitigate credit risks.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements, business reports and legal documents.
• Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient business writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite SBA 7(a) loan transactions and perform due diligence under supervision of Credit Team Lead/Manager.
• Spread and analyze financial information from loan applicants and evaluate against internal Credit Policies.
• Order 3rd party reports (Appraisal, Environmental, Business Valuation) with approval.
• Prepare Credit Memorandum and ensure alignment with policies and SBA guidelines.
• Coordinate processing of approved loans according to customer needs and policies.
• Exercise discretionary judgment in preparing and recommending credit approvals to Loan Committee.
• Coordinate with Closing Team to efficiently process transactions.

Principal Responsibilities

• Responsible for underwriting and conducting due diligence of SBA 7a loan transactions under the supervision of the Credit Team Lead and/or Credit Manager.
• Spread and analyze financial information of loan applicants and evaluate the information according to internal Credit Policies & Procedures.
• Order 3rd party reports (e.g. Appraisal, Environmental, or Business Valuation) with approval from Credit Team Lead and/or Credit Manager.
• Prepare Credit Memorandum and ensure it is underwritten to the policies and procedures of Crossroads Small Business Solutions and the SBA.
• Coordinates processing of approved loans and ensuring that loans are processed according to customer needs and conforming to internal lending policies.
• Exercise discretionary and independent judgment in preparing and recommending credit approval to the Management Loan Committee.
• Coordinate with the Closing Team to efficiently process transactions.

Required Qualifications

Compensation

• Base Salary: $95,000-$120,000/year (based on experience, qualifications and location)
• Plus Bonus Incentive
• Full-time position

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to pass post-offer drug screening and background check
