Job summary

Clopay Corporation in Mason, OH is seeking a Credit Director to lead the credit and deductions teams at our Mason headquarters. You will establish policies, approve limits, and partner with Sales, the CFO and company president to balance customer needs with business goals.

This role requires a solid accounting/finance background, extensive credit experience, and knowledge of construction lien/bond laws. You will drive risk management, monitor accounts, and develop reports for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. Prefer Master’s Degree.
• Extensive credit experience in a similar organization or industry.
• Familiarity with commercial construction industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of construction lien, bond laws, and related notice requirements.
• Flexible growth and sales-oriented approach to credit management, facilitating sales growth while minimizing risk.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Ability to analyze credit data by market and across the organization to drive business results.
• Ability to work independently while partnering with internal customers.

Responsibilities

• Establishes policies and procedures concerning credit functions including workflow, letters, applications, and actions on aged accounts.
• Collaborates with Sales, CFO and Company President to balance customer needs with business interests.
• Approves credit limits, handles special arrangements, and negotiates payment terms deviations.
• Evaluates third-party credit reporting agencies and related data.
• Engages with National Association of Credit Management and uses educational resources.
• Develops relationships with credit/collections attorneys and agencies to collect delinquent accounts.
• Negotiates favorable third-party collection rates and policies.
• Monitors credit activity and audits delinquent accounts before bad credit status is assigned.
• Creates reports on large accounts, aging analysis, and bad debt reserves for management.
• Supervises Credit and Deduction departments and mentors staff.
• Resolves customer disputes as necessary.
