Job Title: Accounts Receivable SpecialistJob Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. This role is integral in managing customer payments, processing credit notes, and supporting the setup of new accounts. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure customer payments are accurately recorded and applied according to provided instructions.
  • Address payment discrepancies by contacting customers before finalizing allocations.
  • Prioritize and expedite order releases efficiently, while monitoring pending requests.
  • Maintain and update designated fields within the company’s address book.
  • Collaborate with the credit account manager to confirm changes and resolve uncertainties.
  • Support special initiatives as assigned, ensuring timely completion.
  • Gather essential data for credit limit reviews, including payment history and financial statements.
  • Verify completeness of new account documentation and compile files for processing.
  • Review, process, and validate credit notes within authorization guidelines.
  • Provide additional support to Credit Analysts when needed.

Essential Skills

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in credit and accounts receivable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable execution of tasks with consistent follow-up.
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in resolving payment allocation discrepancies.
  • Ability to maintain courteous and professional interactions.
  • Problem-solving skills to ensure swift and effective resolution.
  • Capacity to manage documentation efficiently.
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively in a high-paced environment.
  • Understanding of deadlines and time-sensitive tasks.
  • Competency in office software, including spreadsheets and banking programs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic Excel skills (filtering and sorting).
  • Experience with JD Edwards ERP system.
  • 1 year of cash applications/cash allocation experience.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setup.
  • Preferred experience in big box retail and account reconciliations.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, offering flexibility in working hours. You will be part of a team of five, collaborating closely with the lead. The role operates primarily in the PST timezone, and performance is measured by your ability to accurately apply cash to correct accounts and navigate customer portals.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.44/hr.
