Job summary

GoCardless is seeking a to develop a career in credit control. You’ll manage outstanding invoices, communicate with merchants to resolve queries, and support aging reports and collections efforts.

You will collaborate with Customer Operations and senior team members to ensure strong debt control and maintain solid customer relationships. Proficiency in Excel and Google tools is expected, with CRM/billing software experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience or study in Finance / Accounting with numeracy emphasis.
• Proficient Excel skills (intermediate or higher).
• Comfort with Google Docs/Sheets for reporting and analysis.
• Familiarity with CRM/BI tools (Salesforce/Looker) and e-sign/billing platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Resolves and manages outstanding invoices and delinquent accounts.
• Communicates with customers to answer queries and reach payment agreements; escalates for approval when needed.
• Produces and analyses aging reports; tracks collection efforts and payment reminders (Dunning).
• Elevates complex cases to senior credit controllers per policy.

The role

This is an opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in credit control. You’llgain experience in operating and reporting on credit processes, working closely with senior credit controllers to ensure optimal debt control, and collaborating with Customer Operations and other teams to maintain strong customer relationships.

You will be responsible for the resolution and management of outstanding invoices and delinquent accounts. You’ll communicate directly with customers to answer their queries and agree payments, escalating for approval where necessary.

You will produce and analyse aging reports, and assist with tracking collection efforts and payment reminders (Dunning). Where necessary, you will elevate to senior credit controllers, in accordance with agreed policies.

What excites you:

• Communicating with customers in a professional and timely manner to collect overdue payments and outstanding debts, in line with agreed credit terms
• Responding to and resolve queries from merchants
• Creating and distributing reports on outstanding debt and incoming payments
• Allocating customer payments and calculation up-to-date account balances
• Using business judgement to recommend credit notes or payment plans as appropriate, raising with management for approval
• Managing payment plans
• Supporting with account reconciliations

• Previous experience in credit control is a bonus but not essential

You’ll need to be well versed in:

• Excel (intermediate or above)
• Google Docs, Google Sheets

A bonus but not a must:

• A working knowledge of SalesForce, Looker, Billing Platform and Docusign CLM

Base salary range: 1733 EUR/ months gross - 2600 EUR/ months gross

Base salary ranges are based on role, job level, location, and market data. Please note that whilst we strive to offer competitive compensation, our approach is to pay between the minimum and the mid-point of the pay range until performance can be assessed in role. Offers will take into account level of experience, interview assessment, budgets and parity between you and fellow employees at GoCardless doing similar work.
