Job summary

Triple-S Steel Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Credit Assistant for our Commerce City team to review creditworthiness and determine lending risk.

The role involves daily order reviews, tax exemptions, and maintaining credit records in our ERP system. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, familiarity with MS Office, and the ability to work with senior management to support financial directives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong PC skills in word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of security and creditor rights.
  • Knowledge of construction lien law.
  • Strong communication & negotiating skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to work with senior management to ensure financial directives are followed.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Multiple reviews of daily orders and approvals
  • Validate and approve sales tax exemptions
  • Analyze credit and financial information
  • Maintain credit/collections records in ERP system
  • Assign credit limits within a set authority matrix
  • Maintain sound credit policy while respecting Sales goals
  • Communicate credit holds to Sales and Customers
  • Heavy telephone and written communications
  • Enforce terms of sale and take collection action as needed
  • Resolve disputes and deductions
  • Prepare documentation to perfect bond claims and lien rights
  • Make recommendations to credit manager
  • Prepare AR portfolio risk analysis report

Overview

From a small family retail operation in Houston, our business has expanded across the US and S. America to sell over 1 Million tons per year . We supply steel for bridges, stadiums, barges and large buildings but one thing will always remain the same: Wetreat our customers and employees like family.

We are looking to add a credit assistant to our Commerce City team. The Credit Assistant will review the creditworthiness of individuals or businesses to determine the risk involved in lending money or extending credit.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work with Senior Management to ensure financial directives are followed
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • A quick learner, deadline driven, with a can-do attitude are essential traits for our successful candidate.
