Job summary

BMO U.S. is offering a Commercial Banking internship focused on credit analysis and lending support. You will evaluate credit information, prepare summaries, and assist in structuring loans to align with client needs and risk policies.

The program runs during the summer, with onboarding and cohort experiences designed to build practical banking knowledge and client relationship skills within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in credit or lending instruments or financial operations in a corporate or banking environment is preferred.
• Foundational level of proficiency in Financial Analysis, Loan Structuring, Data Analysis Tools, Regulatory Compliance, Portfolio Management, Credit Risk Assessment, Banking Operations, Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem solving, collaboration and analytical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes credit information to support lending decisions and processes for a portfolio of clients.
• Makes credit decisions and recommendations in compliance with bank policies.
• Prepares detailed credit summaries to assess creditworthiness and support decision making.
• Builds and maintains client relationships to ensure long-term financial performance in collaboration with Relationship Manager.
