Job summary

Texas-Heritage-National-Bank seeks a Credit Analyst II to independently analyze business and financial records for commercial loan decisions. You will evaluate financial statements, industry ratios, market risk, collateral, and projections to make informed credit recommendations.

In this role, you will work with loan officers, lending staff, and customers under the Director of Credit Administration to ensure accurate underwriting, covenants, and timely documentation while upholding regulatory

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • Three or more years of commercial credit analysis experience within a bank or financial institution is required; banking experience in related areas will be considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word); experience with financial spreading software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes the financial data of new and existing borrowers and independently prepares credit requests and reviews of existing credits.
  • Provides background on clients, transaction summaries, projection modeling, loan covenant and condition compliance, profitability, risk rating, and industry analyses.
  • Assists in determining the best loan structure and supports credit decisions through thorough analysis and recommendations.
  • Monitors covenant and reporting compliance; assists in annual reviews and renewals; communicates exceptions to the Director of Credit Administration.
  • Collaborates with loan officers during underwriting, including client calls and meetings to understand borrower needs.
  • Supports file completeness and timely documentation through coordination with loan operations staff.
  • Maintains knowledge of lending policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines; adheres to internal policies and protects confidential information.

Description

This position is responsible for independently gathering and analyzing business and financial records and other information necessary to assess customer credit and risks in connection with primarily commercial loans. The Credit Analyst II is responsible for making determinations and recommendations on commercial credit decisions, credit risk, and loan approvals through evaluation of financial statements, industry ratios, market risk, collateral, sensitivity analyses, and projections. The analyst works closely with loan officers, lending assistants, commercial customers, and other bank employees under the direction of the Director of Credit Administration.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes the financial data of new and existing borrowers and independently prepares credit requests and reviews of existing credits.
  • Provides general background of clients, transaction summary, projection modeling, loan covenant and condition compliance along with profitability, risk rating, relationship, and industry analyses.
  • Assists in determining best loan structure for requests, helps to foresee future opportunities with clients, and provides credit recommendations.
  • Monitors covenant and reporting compliance for assigned relationships, assists in the preparation of annual reviews and renewals for existing borrowers, and communicates exceptions or deficiencies to the Director of Credit Administration.
  • Works directly with loan officers throughout the underwriting process, including participating in client calls and meetings as appropriate, to better understand borrower needs and support credit structure decisions.
  • Works with loan officers, lending assistants, and loan operations staff to support file completeness and timely resolution of documentation requirements.
  • Maintains working knowledge of applicable Bank lending policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provides strong and clear communication to co-workers, loan officers, and third parties.
  • Adheres to all applicable internal policies and procedures and protects the confidentiality of borrower information.
  • Follows BSA policies and procedures applicable to job functions.
  • Performs additional duties as requested or assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Working Strong knowledge of credit services and an understanding of credit policy.
  • Demonstrates analytical, decision-making, and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrates effective business writing along with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound judgments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word; experience with financial spreading software preferred.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field required.
  • Three or more years of commercial credit analysis experience within a bank or financial institution required; candidates with banking experience in related areas or related industries will be considered.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
