  • Analyze audited financial statements, management accounts, regulatory information, capital adequacy, asset quality, liquidity, profitability, funding profiles, and other relevant financial and risk indicators.
  • Prepare detailed credit applications, annual reviews, renewals, amendments, and credit recommendations for presentation to appropriate credit authorities and committees.
  • Evaluate counterparty creditworthiness and recommend appropriate credit limits, risk ratings, terms, conditions, and mitigating controls.
  • Conduct financial spreading, ratio analysis, trend analysis, peer comparisons, and stress/scenario analysis as appropriate.
  • Assess country, sovereign, industry, market, and geopolitical risks that may affect counterparties and credit exposures.
  • Monitor existing credit relationships and identify emerging risks, deteriorating financial trends, covenant concerns, or other early-warning indicators.
  • Support the ongoing monitoring and periodic review of the Bank's correspondent banking and financial institutions portfolio.
  • Partner with Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, Compliance, Financial Institutions, and other internal stakeholders to support sound and timely credit decisions.
  • Ensure credit files and analyses are complete, accurate, well-supported, and prepared in accordance with the Bank's credit policies, procedures, risk appetite, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with regulatory examinations, internal and external audits, portfolio reviews, and other credit-related projects as required.
  • Maintain awareness of economic, regulatory, political, and market developments affecting assigned counterparties and markets.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline required; advanced degree or relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • Strong professional experience in commercial banking, corporate banking, correspondent banking, financial institutions credit, or credit risk.
  • Demonstrated experience in credit underwriting and financial statement analysis.
  • Experience analyzing banks and other financial institutions is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of correspondent banking products, financial institution exposures, and international banking relationships is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of credit risk principles, financial ratios, risk ratings, exposure limits, and portfolio monitoring.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify material risks and translate complex financial information into clear credit recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to prepare well-supported credit memoranda.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other financial analysis and banking systems.
  • Ability to work effectively across Credit, Risk, Compliance, Relationship Management, and other business functions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience underwriting correspondent banks and/or international financial institutions.
  • Experience assessing financial institutions in Africa, emerging markets, or other international markets.
  • Familiarity with sovereign and country-risk considerations affecting cross-border banking relationships.
  • Bilingual French/English proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Experience working within a regulated U.S. banking environment is a plus.
What We Are Looking For
