Job summary

Job Summary

The Credit Analyst – Banker Development Program will start in Summer 2024 and is designed for individuals aspiring to become Commercial Bankers (Lenders). As a Credit Analyst in this program, you will receive training and support to underwrite various financial transactions involving working capital, equipment, real estate, and small company acquisitions. The program also provides career development across the bank, preparing you for a lending role within two to three years upon successful completion.

Essential Functions

  1. Analyze financial statements, including performance ratios, to assess borrower’s operational performance, identifying strengths and weaknesses.
  2. Prepare written analyses covering credit investigations, economic and market conditions, financial and cash flow analysis, collateral, and guarantor’s financial position.
  3. Research industry data from outside sources, including conversations with borrowers, industry publications, credit agencies, and internet resources.
  4. Attend weekly Loan Committee meetings, answer questions, and present loan requests as needed.
  5. Participate in customer meetings as requested, which may require travel.
  6. Perform real estate appraisal reviews for lenders across regions.
  7. Process and monitor compliance with Commercial Loan Agreement requirements and covenants.
  8. Oversee periodic inspections related to real estate construction projects, monitoring loan advances against project completion.
  9. Engage actively in all training and development sessions and complete assigned projects.
  10. Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
  • Relevant experience in financial, credit, or statistical analysis through internships, work, or extracurricular activities is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated with initiative, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Availability to attend initial training in Downtown Dallas for approximately four weeks, with subsequent travel for ongoing training sessions.
