Job summary

Children’s Mercy is seeking a credentialing coordinator in Kansas City to oversee medical staff credentialing for initial appointments and reappointments. The role maintains provider profiles, manages documentation, and generates credentialing reports for departmental operations.

The successful candidate will have an HS diploma with 3–5 years of credentialing experience and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent and 3–5 years related work experience in medical staff credentialing with demonstrated ability in handling responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality in credentialing data and communications.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and processes Medical Staff credentialing applications for initial appointment and reappointment applicants.
• Coordinates and monitors the collection of credentialing documentation, tracks applications through each stage of the process, and follows files through to completion.
• Participates in maintaining current, accurate, and complete Medical Staff provider profiles, databases, and records.
• Prepares and supports the preparation of reports related to Medical Staff credentialing, provider information, and departmental operations as requested.
• Provides continuity of Medical Staff support services and serves as a key departmental resource.
• Supports daily Medical Staff Services operations, helping ensure credentialing activities and administrative functions are completed efficiently, accurately, and within established timelines.

Overview

Coordinates the timely and effective execution of medical and dental staff credentialing activities. Ensures accurate verification of credentials for initial appointments and reappointments across Hospital facilities. Oversees the maintenance and integrity of departmental databases used to manage and communicate physician and practitioner information throughout the organization

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $22.78/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Children’s Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
