Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Assist Clinicians in obtaining credentials such as certifications, health documents, background screening, licensure, specialty testing, and facility-specific forms.
  • Baseline requirements must be fulfilled for Clinician to start and stay on assignment.
  • Maintain communication regarding assignment-at-risk items and impact on start dates.
  • Verify requirements are accurate and coordinate with the Hospital Database Coordinator.
  • Send clearance notices and proof of completed compliance to facilities per timeline requirements.
  • Obtain and distribute reporting instructions and orientation information for Clinicians.
  • Ensure timely responses to requests per Fast Start and 48-hour policies.
  • Aim for high monthly audit scores and meet leadership performance targets.
  • Mentor trainees and participate in cross-training sessions to support the shared services model.

Job description

The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for managing Clinician files from initial submission through assignment, ensuring all baseline and facility compliance requirements are met. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based on the business line supported (Agency — Nursing & Allied, MSP, HCS, and Locums) and will be assigned accordingly.

You’ll be working with

This position works closely with Credentialing team, Client Services, Recruitment, Clients, and Clinicians depending on the business line they are supporting.

What you’ll be doing
  • Assist and prepare current and pending Clinicians in obtaining credentials such as certifications, health documents, background screening, licensure, specialty testing, and facility-specific forms, etc in adherence to defined baseline requirements for the business line supported
  • Baseline requirements must be fulfilled for Clinician to start and stay on assignment
  • Maintain clear communication regarding “assignment at risk” items as they impact targeted start dates
  • Verify requirements are accurate and send any updates to the Hospital Database Coordinator as needed or in assigned VMS
  • Send clearance notice and proof of completed compliance checklist to facility per timeline requirements
  • Obtain and distribute reporting instructions and orientation information for Clinicians as assigned
  • Ensure Fast Start policy and 48-hour policy is met regarding timeliness of response to requests and communication with all parties
  • Achieve required monthly audit score and other performance requirements established by leadership
  • Serve as mentor to trainees; advise on best practices and day-to-day questions related to assignments and pending Clinicians
  • Encouraged to participate in 1+ cross-training sessions per year (HCS, Locums, MSP, or agency) to support our shared services model
  • May be required to float to various business lines depending on business needs

What we’re looking for

  • Ability to work with others to quickly resolve or elevate problems
