Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing in Columbia, Maryland seeks a Credentialing Specialist to support onboarding and ongoing credentialing for contractors across our client network. You will enforce supplier compliance, validate credentials, and maintain high-quality customer service while coordinating with clients and suppliers in a fast-paced healthcare staffing environment.

Qualifications

  • Healthcare terminology experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Enforces supplier compliance with program policies.
  • Documents and maintains proficiency in support functions to meet metrics.
  • Onboards contractors by reviewing and validating credentials.
  • Tracks pre-assignment requirements to ensure compliance before activation.
  • Coordinates credential updates from suppliers before expiration.
  • Adapts to technology to increase efficiency in daily processes.
  • Ensures compliance with Joint Commission and state/federal guidelines.
  • Communicates effectively with clients, suppliers, and team members.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all constituents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

The Credentialing Specialist provides the highest level of customer service to clients, suppliers, and team members. The Credentialing Specialist contributes to the culture of the division with strong accountability and team orientation while focusing on professional development, proficiency in essential job functions and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Enforces supplier compliance established by the Clinical Program Manager
  • Documents and maintains proficiency in all support functions and activities to ensure all compliance metrics are met
  • Proactively assists the clients and suppliers through the contractor onboarding process by engaging, reviewing, and validating the appropriate credentials are met
  • Tracks and monitors all pre-assignment, and contract specific requirements to ensure compliance prior to activating new contractors
  • Coordinates activities to obtain updated credentials from suppliers for contractors on assignment prior to expiration
  • Adapts to and incorporates the latest technology into daily processes to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Adheres to evolving healthcare mandates, policies, requirements set forth by Joint Commission,
  • Customer Specific, State and Federal guidelines
  • Displays strong organizational skills and time management skills to efficiently support the program management team
  • Establishes and maintains effective channels of communication within the division as well as with clients, suppliers, and team members
  • Provides excellent customer service to all constituents
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent degree required. Undergraduate degree preferred
  • Healthcare terminology experience preferred
  • One year work experience in a team environment preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively elicit from and provide information to all team members, clients and suppliers using strong communication skills
