Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee initial credentialing and recredentialing for clinical providers.
  • Maintain credentialing records for medical staff, APPs, and billing staff.
  • Prepare, review and submit credentialing applications and supporting docs.
  • Maintain provider credentialing files and monitor licensure, certification, accreditation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage OPPE/FPPE reporting activities.
  • Create and maintain Collaborative Practice Agreements.
  • Use Medical Staff Office systems and databases to generate reports and provider rosters.
  • Safeguard confidentiality and integrity of credentialing information and verification processes.
  • Serve as a key contact with providers, department leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Support departmental operations through additional duties and special projects.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional tojoin our team as a Credentialing Specialist II supporting theDepartment of Surgery. This is an exciting opportunity for anindividual who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment andenjoys managing complex processes that directly support exceptionalpatient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the initial credentialing andrecredentialing processes for clinical providers.
  • Maintain credentialing records for medical staff members,advanced practice professionals, and University Physicians billingstaff
  • Prepare, review, and submit credentialing applications andsupporting documentation to ensure timely approvals andcompliance.
  • Maintain provider credentialing files and monitor ongoingcompliance with licensure, certification, accreditation, andregulatory requirements.
  • Manage and track Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation(OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE)reporting activities.
  • Create and maintain Collaborative Practice Agreements.
  • Utilize Medical Staff Office systems and other designateddatabases to generate reports, provider rosters, and operationaldata as needed.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity of allcredentialing information and verification processes.
  • Serve as a key point of contact, communicating effectively withproviders, department leadership, Medical Staff Offices, and otherstakeholders.
  • Support departmental operations through additional duties andspecial projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, health administration, finance, oran equivalent combination of education and experience from whichcomparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired.

Two (2) years of experience with graduate medical education,medical staff credentialing, HR, provider enrollment, or work thatinvolves confirming work history, education, training, background,and/or reference checks, or similar experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Years of Experience: 3 years

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $22.00 - $30.83 hourly

Grade: PAT - 007
