Job summary

Golden State Orthopedics & Spine is seeking a Credentialing Specialist to manage the full cycle of provider credentialing and re-credentialing. You will keep up-to-date licenses and documents, proactively track expirations, and update provider information in the MODIO credentialing database to ensure regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, have 2+ years of medical office experience, and are proficient with Excel and EHR/EMR systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a medical office.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency in Excel and general office software required.
• Experience with EHR/EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare credentialing and re-credentialing applications for physicians/providers.
• Monitor applications and follow-ups to completion.
• Gather and maintain copies of licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage, and other documents.
• Track license and certification expirations for timely renewals.
• Update credentials in the MODIO credentialing database.

About the Role

The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for managing the full cycle of provider credentialing and re-credentialing, ensuring all applications are accurately prepared, submitted, and monitored through completion. This role maintains up-to-date records of licenses, certifications, and required documents, proactively tracking expirations to prevent lapses. The Credentialing Specialist also updates and manages provider information in the MODIO credentialing database to ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational requirements.

What You'll Do

• Preparing credentialing and re-credentialing applications on behalf of physicians/providers
• Completing provider credentialing and re-credentialing applications; monitor applications and follow-ups as needed
• Gathering, organizing, and maintaining copies of current state licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage and any other required credentialing documents for all providers
• Tracking license and certification expirations for all providers to ensure timely renewals
• Maintaining and updating credentials in MODIO credentialing database

What We're Looking For:

• High School Diploma or GED certificate
• 2+ years' experience in a medical office (preferred)
• Work and Excel experience (required)
• EHR/EMR experience (preferred)
