Credentialing Coordinator - Medical Staff Services - Full Time - Onsite - Days

Summary

The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of initial credentialing/privileging and recredentialing/privileging of physicians and advanced practice providers who perform patient care services at Grady Health System. The Coordinator independently gathers, conducts, and analyzes data/information via primary sources in accordance with standards from accrediting and regulatory agencies (TJC, NCQA, State, and Federal), as well as Grady Health System policies, Medical Staff Bylaws, and Rules and Regulations. Performs initial and re-credentialing of Grady-employed providers with managed care plans and third-party payors through delegated processes, adhering to system policies and contracts.

Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Healthcare Administration (or related field) OR 7+ years of relevant experience in a healthcare office setting may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration (or related field) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of The Joint Commission, NCQA, and state/federal accrediting standards regarding credentialing/privileging.
  • At least three years of credentialing/privileging experience in a hospital or managed care setting, and/or Medical Staff Services, with two years of database experience.
  • Minimum of three years in progressively responsible positions in a complex business/administrative setting, including experience working with physicians, advanced practice providers, or other professionals, totaling six or more years of related experience, including two years in a leadership role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact across all levels of personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Keen attention to detail, conflict resolution skills, self-starting attitude, and flexibility.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or CPCS certification within two years of eligibility or as specified by the Director of Medical Staff Services.
