Role Overview

The Veterinary Technician assists veterinarians with patient care, monitors hospitalized pets, maintains inventory, prepares prescriptions, performs routine lab work, educates clients, and assists in surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in veterinary medicine and surgery
  • Support outpatient exams and client education
  • Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs
  • Collect samples and perform lab testing
  • Take and develop radiographs safely
  • Handle and restrain animals
  • Administer medications and monitor treatments
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam and lab areas
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Ability to work weekends as needed
  • Veterinary experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently, more with assistance
  • Follow OSHA safety procedures
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Strong communication skills
