A leading veterinary hospital in Portland, Oregon is looking for a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join their overnight ICU team. The position offers a starting salary of $35+ per hour along with a $5,000 sign-on bonus and various employee benefits including health insurance, 401(k) with employer match, and PTO. Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency and Referral (BVER) is a specialty animal hospital located in Portland, Oregon. Our team includes highly skilled veterinarians in Emergency/Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, and Ophthalmology, supported by dedicated technicians and support staff.

Essential Job Functions

• Triage and assess cases, including alerting the veterinarian of patients in critical condition
• Perform diagnostic tests and procedures
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
• Provide support and education to pet owners
• Maintain accurate medical records

Required Skills

• Valid Oregon veterinary technician certification (CVT)
• Minimum two years ICU experience, preferably in an emergency or specialty veterinary hospital
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with composure
• Confidence in life-saving procedures such as CPR, chest taps, and urinary deobstruction
• Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills; advanced catheter and sampling line placement skills preferred
• Experience assisting and monitoring surgical and sedated procedures, including management of unstable patients; additional anesthesia training provided
