Job summary

Rarebreed Veterinary Partners is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join both Animal Hospital of Old Saybrook and Adorable Pets Veterinary Center. The split role will be 60% at Animal Hospital of Old Saybrook and 40% at Adorable Pets, with clinics about 20 minutes apart.

You will provide compassionate patient care, maintain medical records, assist veterinarians in medical, surgical, and dental procedures, and educate clients on home care.

Qualifications

  • This role requires Veterinary Technician Certification or License.
  • Experience with surgical and anesthesia procedures is preferred.
  • Must be a team player and contribute to aPositive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their families.
  • Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Assist veterinarians in medical, surgery, and dental procedures.
  • Explain follow-up and home care instructions to clients.
  • Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and stock supplies.

Adorable Pets Veterinary Center and Animal Hospital of Old Saybrook are looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to their teams. Licensed Veterinary Technician

This is a split role between Animal Hospital of Old Saybrook (60%) and Adorable Pets (40%). The clinics are roughly 20 minutes away from each other.

$23.00-$28.00 hourly pay rate (based on experience)

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
  • Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
  • Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Perform physical assessments and record your observations
  • Prepare estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients
  • Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions
  • Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered
  • Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids)
  • Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) required
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
  • Must be able to work at both clinics
  • Surgical and anesthesia experience
