Job summary

Harrison Animal Hospital in Harrison, OH is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians with anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, laboratory work, patient nursing, and client education.

You will collaborate closely with the veterinary team, maintain careful records, and communicate clearly with clients to ensure high-quality, compassionate care for every patient. Experience in a veterinary setting and MS Office proficiency are valued.

Qualifications

• State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician.
• Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds; assist with heavier lifts.
• Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE.
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS Office applications.
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety and client understanding.
• Basic math skills and ability to calculate medication dosages.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in veterinary medicine, surgery, and related tasks.
• Take histories, vital signs, and weights during outpatient exams; educate clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures.
• Collect and process samples; perform in-hospital lab testing and prep for outside labs.
• Take, develop, and maintain radiographs following safety procedures.
• Provide animal handling and restraint during exams as needed.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments under vet direction.
• Clean and restock rooms; maintain equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate warmth, courtesy, and professionalism with clients and patients.
• Communicate with veterinarians and team members about patient plans and concerns.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
