Follow the Child Montessori School in Raleigh, NC is seeking a warm, credentialed Upper Elementary Montessori Teacher to guide students in grades 4-6. You will prepare and maintain the classroom, present the Montessori curriculum, observe progress, and partner with families to support academic, social, and emotional growth.

Qualifications

• AMI/AMS Elementary credential (9–12) or Elementary I–II (6–12) level from an AMI/AMS program.
• At least 5 years of Montessori elementary classroom teaching experience, preferably Upper Elementary.
• Deep knowledge of Montessori philosophy, child development, and the Elementary curriculum.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Master's degree in education or related field preferred.
• Subject expertise in mathematics, science, or humanities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Present Montessori lessons across language, mathematics, geometry, geography, biology, physical science, history, and Great Lessons.
• Guide independent research, long-term projects, and in-depth study.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners and grade-level expectations.
• Plan and facilitate field studies, going-out experiences, and community-based learning.
• Observe students, keep progress records, and prepare written progress reports.
• Communicate regularly with families and collaborate with the co-teacher to support transitions.
