Job summary

Neumo is seeking a Youth Services Assistant to energize the children's area and support library patrons with friendly, creative service. You will develop monthly thematic displays, design promotional materials using Canva, and help with children's programming.

You'll assist patrons in locating books and resources, manage library cards using the LEAP system, and contribute to story times, crafts, and community outreach. The role requires weekend/evening availability and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in graphic design or visual arts preferred; Canva familiarity helps.
• Experience with children in a public setting preferred.
• Basic knowledge of library systems (LEAP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement monthly themed displays and decorations.
• Design flyers, posters, and social graphics using Canva.
• Assist patrons in locating books, multimedia, and other resources.
• Use LEAP to create and manage library cards and patron accounts.
• Support programming efforts, including story times, craft sessions, and special events.
• Maintain organized and welcoming library spaces in the children’s department.
• Collaborate with team members on projects and program planning.
• Contribute ideas for innovative programs and community outreach.
