Job summary

The City of Orlando is seeking a skilled Sign Fabrication Technician to assist with design, layout and fabrication of traffic control and special signage for installation around the city. You will work with vehicle lettering, window layouts, and custom signage using a computerized graphics design arts station and hand drawn artwork.

Responsibilities include general maintenance on machines, inventory management for sign materials, and weekend/holiday shifts for events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 6 months of experience in Sai Flexi Software or sign fabrication.
• Associate’s degree in the graphic arts field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Florida Intermediate TTC or MOT certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, layout and fabrication of traffic control and special signage installed citywide.
• Involved in vehicle lettering, window layouts and custom signage using graphics station and hand drawn artwork.
• Perform general maintenance on fabrication equipment and manage inventory of supplies for sign work orders.
• Work weekends and holidays for special events and assist in sign installations.
