Job summary

Ropes & Gray LLP in New York seeks a Creative Services Manager to unite our creative team, outside agency partners, and internal departments. You will design workflows, manage requests, and drive high-quality work aligned with the firm's brand and client goals.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in creative operations or project management within agencies or in-house teams, strong organizational and communication skills, and a track record of implementing scalable processes and AI-enabled tools.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of project management, creative operations, or a similar role within a creative agency or in-house team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Prior people management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with project management software and creative workflow tools such as Adobe Workfront
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a steward of the firm’s visual identity, ensuring consistent, sophisticated and high-quality execution across all creative channels and touchpoints.
  • Help evolve and elevate the firm’s visual brand, bringing fresh thinking and modern creative approaches while maintaining the credibility and standards expected of a leading law firm.
  • Lead the intake process for creative requests, capturing and prioritizing requirements, timelines, and deliverables to guide agency resources effectively.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the outside agency with internal departments ensuring seamless communication and collaboration to meet project goals.
  • Serve as the architect of creative operations, designing and implementing new processes from the ground up to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability within the creative function. This includes identifying areas for improvement, establishing best practices, and creating workflows that set new operational standards.
  • Identify and responsibly introduce new technologies and AI-enabled creative tools that improve the speed, quality and scalability of creative services while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and quality standards.
  • Serve as a trusted creative advisor to stakeholders, providing thoughtful recommendations, constructively challenging requests when appropriate and guiding teams toward strong brand outcomes.
  • Oversee quality control of creative outputs, ensuring they meet Ropes & Gray’s standards for brand integrity, compliance, and client expectations.
  • Track project progress and team productivity, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to keep projects on track and ensure timely completion.

Overview

We are seeking an organized and versatile Creative Services Manager to join our team, acting as the pivotal link between our creative team/outside agency and departments such as marketing, events, business development, web, attorney talent and others. This unique role will combine elements of project management and creative design operations, ensuring a streamlined, efficient flow of creative requests and facilitating effective collaboration across teams to deliver top-quality work that aligns with Ropes & Gray’s brand standards and client objectives.

WORK CONDITIONS

Normal office environment. Incumbent is expected to work the hours necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Compensation And Total Rewards Package

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

New York: $127,900 - $195,000

Working Conditions

This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
