Job summary

Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta seeks a Director of Theme & Travel Camps to oversee planning, staffing, and operation of its Theme and Travel Camp programs within Day Camps. The role includes seasonal staff supervision, budget management, and collaboration with the Day Camps leadership team.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, creative, and capable of managing multiple programs in a fast-paced camp environment, including year-round School’s Out programming.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in camping, recreation, education, or youth programming.
• Experience supervising and developing staff.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Creative thinker capable of developing engaging, age-appropriate programming.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required by the camp calendar.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and evaluate annual Theme & Travel Camp offerings, including new programs, destinations, activities, and experiences.
• Develop schedules, curriculum, activities, and staff resources aligned with enrollment and budgets.
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise Theme & Travel Camp staff and supervisors.
• Oversee daily camp operations, staffing, supplies, budgets, and vendor coordination.
• Provide responsive customer service to campers and families and manage communications.
• Support School’s Out programs year-round and collaborate with Day Camps leadership.
