Job summary

The Heist, a leading motion design, live action, and post production studio, seeks a Creative Director, Motion, to lead and craft 2D/3D campaigns for diverse clients. You’ll mentor a tight-knit team, provide strong creative direction, and stay hands-on when needed to deliver stunning visual work.

Reporting to the Director of Animation, you’ll drive storyboards, styleframes, and assets while aligning with client goals. Travel and client-facing responsibilities are part of the role.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of motion design experience
• 3+ years in a leadership or senior capacity
• Strong proficiency in Cinema 4D and Redshift
• Mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Knowledge of XParticles, Marvelous Designer, and/or Houdini a plus
• Working knowledge of Figma

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a nimble team of motion designers and guide projects with strong creative direction.
• Hands-on design or animation when needed to ensure quality.
• Develop clear storyboards and polished styleframes that convey campaign narratives and aesthetics.
• Oversee production of 2D/3D assets, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines.
• Provide clear, actionable feedback to team and foster growth.
• Engage directly with clients, translating needs into creative insights.
• Collaborate with the motion team to optimize processes and workflows.
• Contribute to project budgeting and resource planning.
