Montserrat College of Art's Conifer Design Studio seeks a Creative Director/Mentor to provide creative leadership and professional mentorship for the studio. This is a hands-on role for a practicing designer who can raise the quality of the work, sharpen the studio's professional standards, and mentor students to grow its client base.

Qualifications

• Professional design experience with a portfolio demonstrating craft across identity, print and digital.
• Ability to give clear, specific creative feedback to emerging designers.
• Comfort with client-facing communication, including new business conversations.
• Interest in mentorship and professional development of early-career creatives.
• Familiarity with industry-standard tools and workflows (Adobe CS; Figma a plus).
• Reliable and self-directed — role runs largely independently.

Responsibilities

• Creative leadership and critique for student designers.
• Lead regular studio meeting to align the team and manage workload.
• Assist in identifying prospective clients and early client conversations.
• Ensure deliverables meet studio standards and client expectations.
• Coordinate light administrative tasks with the Founding Director.
