Job description

Real opportunities. Real impact. Your career, redefined.

(NOTE: A human reviews every application at Oceans, so please apply for only one position and only once a year —if you're a better fit for another role, we’ll route your application accordingly and if we’re not quite ready for you, we’ll reach back out later.)

At Oceans, we believe that talent knows no boundaries. That’s why we connect the best and brightest professionals with career-defining opportunities that challenge, inspire, and accelerate their career growth. Our community, whom we call Divers , don’t just work—they dive deep, solve complex challenges, and make a real impact with global industry leaders. And in doing so, they don’t just support bold ideas—they expand their skills, broaden their expertise, and grow their careers.

As a Creative Director, you will join a fast-growing beauty and hair-care brand expanding its digital operations across the LATAM region. You will take charge of a lean, high-performing creative function built to support rapid digital expansion through short-form content, paid advertising, organic social media, and e-commerce creative. Rather than traditional, big-budget agency productions, this business prioritizes high-volume, performance-driven content production executed with efficiency and resourcefulness.

This is a true "player-coach" role designed for a creative leader who thrives on both setting direction and rolling up their sleeves to execute hands‑on. You will oversee copywriting, graphic design, and video editing as a single, integrated creative pod, establishing visual standards, guiding team members, and maintaining high output velocity. Balancing creative quality, brand consistency, and budget discipline, you will drive impactful storytelling and content repurposing that fuels sustainable growth across digital channels.

Accountability

As a Creative Director, your success will be defined by your ability to lead a multidisciplinary creative pod and consistently deliver high-volume, performance-oriented content that drives engagement and brand consistency.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Creative Leadership & Pod Management
  • Lead the copywriting, graphic design, and video editing functions as one unified creative team.
  • Provide clear creative direction, actionable feedback, and workload prioritization to pod members.
  • Establish efficient production workflows to resolve creative bottlenecks and ensure on‑time asset delivery.
  • Review all creative output for visual quality, narrative relevance, and strict brand alignment.
Creative Strategy & Performance Concepting
  • Develop high-converting creative concepts for paid advertising and organic social channels.
  • Translate marketing objectives into concise, executable creative briefs for static, motion, and video assets.
  • Identify creative hit rates across campaigns and iterate on successful concepts to generate variations.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate ideation, storyboarding, and rapid content repurposing.
Organic Content Production & Activation
  • Directly create and produce organic social content hands‑on, maintaining a weekly content calendar.
  • Coordinate creative production tailored specifically to short‑form platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels.
  • Repurpose existing footage and user‑generated content (UGC) into engaging organic assets.
  • Review organic reach and engagement metrics to continuously inform future creative direction.
Paid Advertising & UGC Repurposing
  • Oversee the production of fresh performance advertising creative across paid channels.
  • Collaborate with copywriters on hooks and messaging, designers on visual hierarchy, and video editors on short‑form execution.
  • Transform UGC and creator content into multi‑platform paid advertising variations.
  • Review advertising asset performance with digital stakeholders to continuously improve hit rates.
Lean Production & Budget Ownership
  • Plan, schedule, and direct practical, monthly photo and video shoots within defined budget parameters.
  • Maximize the volume of reusable photo and video footage generated from every lean production shoot.
  • Manage the monthly creative production budget, tracking cost per asset and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Maintain an organized, on‑brand creative asset library to streamline future content development.
Colleagues

You will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer while partnering closely with the VP of Digital, performance marketing leads, and affiliate stakeholders to align creative execution with broader growth targets. On a daily basis, you will manage a multidisciplinary creative pod consisting of a Senior Copywriter, Senior Graphic Designer, and Video Editor.

At Oceans, you’ll also receive guidance and support from your Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you’re continuously growing and developing in your career.

Skills and Qualifications

At Oceans, we believe in T‑shaped individuals—those who bring deep expertise in one area, paired with broad curiosity and interests. As a Creative Director, your vertical strength will be Creative Concepting, Storytelling & Short‑Form Content, while your horizontal capabilities should span Team Leadership, Performance Creative Optimization, and Lean Budget Management.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Experience: Proven track record leading small, fast‑paced creative teams (in‑house or DTC brand experience preferred), with hands‑on experience in short‑form social content (TikTok, Instagram Reels) and paid social advertising. Experience in the DTC beauty or personal‑care space is a strong plus.
  • Tools/Systems : Proficiency across visual design and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, frame‑accurate review tools), social platforms, and asset management systems. Comfort utilizing AI tools for ideation and storyboarding.
  • Analytics/Process : Ability to interpret creative hit rates, CPC/CPA metrics, and engagement data to refine content; strong production management skills with experience establishing high‑volume content workflows and managing lean shoot budgets.
  • Mindset : A player‑coach mentality with high operational agency, speed, and resourcefulness—prioritizing output efficiency and output speed over expensive, complex setups.

During the interview process, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your skills in the following areas:

  • Creative Leadership & Pod Management: How do you structure workflows, unblock bottlenecks, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of copywriters, designers, and video editors?
  • Short-Form & Performance Creative : How do you concept, produce, and adapt high‑performing content across TikTok, Reels, and paid social channels?
  • Hands‑on Execution & UGC Repurposing : How do you personally approach content creation and turn user‑generated content into multiple high‑converting creative assets?
