Job description

Creative Designer / Brand Growth Producer

We’re hiring a Creative Growth Designer / Producer to work alongside our performance marketer and help power KidCo’s paid acquisition, organic virality, and growth engine.

This is a high‑velocity creative role, not a traditional brand designer position. You’ll be responsible for producing, iterating, and evolving visual creative, primarily short‑form video and static ads across platforms, as well as email marketing assets and landing page content that help parents discover KidCo and understand why it’s different.

You’ll balance taste and speed: having the rare blend and interest to create both high‑quality, brand‑aligned creative while also generating multiple fast iterations to test hooks, angles, formats, and ideas. You’ll work closely with growth, product, and founders to turn insights into visuals quickly.

If you care about brand and believe great creative is found through iteration, this role is for you.

About KidCo

KidCo is building a new kind of creative device for kids, one that turns screen time into creation time.

We believe kids deserve technology that supports imagination, learning, and curiosity, not passive consumption, addictive feeds, or algorithm‑driven content. Our product combines a physical device with thoughtful software and parent controls, giving families a healthier alternative to big‑tech defaults.

We’re a small, fast‑moving team working across consumer hardware, software, AI, and ecommerce, building products we’re proud to put in our own homes.

What You’ll Do

Create and iterate growth designs (75% of the work)

  • Design and produce short‑form video ads, static images, motion graphics for paid channels (primarily Meta, with TikTok and YouTube experiments) and full customer journey experiences (emails, landing pages, product).
  • Create higher‑quality, polished creatives, with a mix of faster iterations testing different hooks, visuals, formats, and narratives.
  • Help us find the right balance between brand and performance.
  • Adjust to shifting priorities with new daily requests (aside from bigger projects too).
  • Partner with the growth marketers and engineers to respond to performance data, refresh creative quickly, test new concepts weekly (and daily), and explore long‑term brand, not just constant new design.

Use modern creative & AI tools

  • Video & design: Figma, Adobe (Premiere, After Effects), Final Cut, CapCut, Canva
  • AI creative tools: Midjourney, DALL·E, Runway, Pika, Sora, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini
  • Editing & experimentation: Descript, VEED, Loom, Notion, Frame, Lovable

(We care more about how you work than which exact tools you use.)

Explore narrative & emotional hooks Translate insights into visual stories that resonate from parent psychology, gifting behavior, kids’ creativity, cultural moments.

Who You Are

This role is about creative problem‑solving, not perfectionism.

  • A rare blend caring for both speed and quality
  • Are a fast, iterative creator who enjoys testing ideas in the wild
  • Care about aesthetics and brand, but don’t let perfection slow you down
  • Are comfortable producing content quickly and learning from feedback. Anywhere in your application or resume, mention an example brand or marketing campaign that inspires you as a brand or creative designer.
  • Enjoy experimenting with AI tools to accelerate creative innovation
  • Think about storytelling, emotion, and human behavior
  • Are excited about building ethical, thoughtful consumer products
  • Might come from design, video, or content creation; film, media, or production; psychology, storytelling, or behavioral design; internet‑native creator or editor background; startup or DTC brand experience.
Nice to Have (Not Required)
  • Experience creating ads or content for consumer brands or ecommerce or AI
  • Familiarity with paid social creative best practices
  • Comfort editing video for Meta/TikTok/YouTube formats (possibly X and LinkedIn)
  • Some copy instincts (hooks, headlines, captions)
  • Side projects, content channels, or creative experiments you can share
Why This Role
  • You’ll have real creative ownership, not just execute briefs
  • You’ll see your work tested with real budgets and real audiences
  • You’ll collaborate directly with growth, product, and founders
  • You’ll help shape how families experience a new category of technology
  • You’ll grow alongside a company building something meaningful
Location

This role is in‑office in Los Altos, CA. We believe being together helps creative collaboration move faster. Hybrid or remote may be possible for exceptional candidates.
