Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role is required.
• Knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations.
• Must be able to acquire a food safety certification.
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
• Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of foods according to recipes and guidelines.
• Set up workstation with needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling foods.
• Safely use knives and a range of utensils.
• Operate ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, and other equipment.
• Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use various cooking methods.
• Plate and portion food following established guidelines.
• Store food properly according to safety policies.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Maintain positive customer service and professional demeanor.
