Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services is seeking a Cook to join our team. You will prepare and cook a variety of meals, follow recipes and production guidelines, and ensure safe handling of ingredients.

Responsibilities include setting up stations, measuring ingredients, operating kitchen equipment, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation while delivering quality meals to guests and clients.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, cooking methods, and safety regulations.
• Ability to obtain a food safety certification.
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and recipes.
• Set up workstation with ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling.
• Safely use utensils including knives and operate ovens, stoves, and mixers.
• Bake, roast, steam and use various methods for meat, vegetables and other foods.
• Garnish and portion foods according to guidelines.
• Store food per food safety policies; keep work areas clean and sanitized.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive demeanor.
