Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role required.
• Knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations (handling, sanitation, storage).
• Must be able to acquire food safety certification.
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
• Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and recipes.
• Sets up workstation with ingredients and equipment.
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, chopping, and peeling.
• Safely uses utensils including knives.
• Operates ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses various methods on meats and vegetables.
• Garnishes and portions food per guidelines.
• Stores food following safety policies and sanitation standards.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas and equipment.
• Maintains customer service and positive demeanor toward guests and colleagues.
