Job summary

Aramark is seeking a motivated Cook to join our kitchen team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. You will prepare diverse recipes, manage ingredients, and ensure quality and safety standards are met in a fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with fellow cooks and supervising staff to execute daily menus, adjust to client requirements, and maintain clean, organized workspaces. Strong food safety knowledge and teamwork are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role required.
• Knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate handling, sanitation, and storage.
• Must be able to acquire food safety certification.
• Demonstrate basic math and counting skills.
• Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares a variety of foods according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Sets up workstation with needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items.
• Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives.
• Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses multiple cooking methods on meats, vegetables, and other foods.
• Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to guidelines.
• Stores food per safety policies and procedures.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor toward guests and staff.
• Follows Aramark safety policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation.
• Ensures security of company assets.
