Off Highway Van seeks a talented video editor to craft compelling short-form content from our adventure-van shoots. You’ll shape stories for Reels, TikTok, and YouTube with a deep understanding of platform performance.
You’ll collaborate on shoots, manage product and brand storytelling, and deliver photo/video assets across channels, including in-house campaigns.
Off Highway Van builds custom Mercedes-Benz Sprinter adventure vans in Salt Lake City. Since 2016 we've delivered more than 300 of them and never built the same one twice. Aluminum and composite construction, roughly 1,000 pounds lighter than the plywood-and-2x2 competition. Every build carries a lifetime craftsmanship warranty and a 5-year bumper-to-bumper factory warranty with no exclusions. RVIA certified. Listed in the J.D. Power valuation guide.
Our vans are built for people who treat the trailhead as a starting line, not a photo op. Our content reflects that: spec-forward, confident, and allergic to soft-focus #vanlife cliches.
That's where you come in.
Most creatives spend a career making a $40 product look like $400.
You get to do the opposite.
Our builds start at $189,990 and can run well over $350K+ on our Pro-X trim. A loaded Davey Jackson Pro-X carries 8.4 kW of Lithionics lithium, a 48-volt air conditioner that runs all night without a generator, hydronic heat, heated floors, a 3x5 skylight over the bed, Dark Star suspension, 33-inch BFGs, and Starlink on the roof.
Then it gets loaded onto a truck and delivered to someone in Vermont, and we build another one that looks nothing like it.
That's your content pipeline. A new hero vehicle every few weeks, purpose-built for one specific owner, photographed and filmed before anyone else on earth sees it.
The biggest part of the job. You'll cut Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts from shoot footage, and you'll edit ad creative for Meta and YouTube campaigns.
That means you know the difference between an edit built for organic reach and one built to convert.
You'll pitch concepts, write outlines and scripts, and assist with shoot production.
You know what performs on each platform and why, and you bring ideas before anyone asks for them owning content from ideation to execution.
You'll own the day-to-day across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube:
Content calendars, publishing, community engagement, and reporting on what's working (and what's not).
You'll work shoots alongside our contract videographer, running a second camera (Mostly vertical) for B-roll, detail shots, and alternate angles on builds, customer deliveries, and brand content.
You'll shoot finished builds, in-progress fabrication, lifestyle content, and product details for all marketing channels
Handle day to day story generation in-shop of the build process, the team, and more.
Marketing experience: ideally in-house or agency-side with a consumer brand
A portfolio of short-form video work you’ve personally edited, or filmed (ideally including paid ad creative).
Proficiency in Premiere Pro, CapCut, or DaVinci Resolve, plus Lightroom or equivalent for photo editing
Experience editing video for paid social and YouTube ads, including hook variations, aspect ratio versions (9:16, 1:1, 16:9), and creative iteration based on performance data
Hands-on camera experience: mirrorless or cinema camera operation, basic audio, and an eye for composition in run-and-gun conditions
Strong storytelling and writing chops: captions, scripts, web copy, and concepts that hold up without a design layer
Working knowledge of platform algorithms, trends, and native best practices across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.
Comfort in a shop and off-grid environment. Our best content happens side-by-side with builders and in the wild, not in a studio.
If you can spot a great 15-second story inside a 3-hour shoot day, keep a shot list in your head while running Camera 2, and write a caption that doesn't sound like Claude himself generated it, we should talk.
