Job summary

ShopRite of Plainview is seeking a Cake Decorator to assist the Bakery Manager in daily operations, including baking, dough mixing, icing, packaging, filling, and decorating of pastry and bread items. Maintain a neat, clean, and visually appealing department while delivering a great customer experience.

The role requires following recipes, adhering to safety and QA standards, and working with the team to provide excellent service.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to assist the Bakery Manager in daily operations.
• Able to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and frequently lift 25 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to handle fresh, dried and processed products and spices.
• Ability to follow QA and safety standards while handling food.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Maintain department sanitation and QA standards.
• Prepare trays and package items to customers' satisfaction.
• Greet Customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Follow recipes and ensure weights and measures per standards.
• Rotate merchandise to ensure freshness and proper labeling.
• Perform duties in accordance with Company policies and safety requirements.
