Job summary

The Creative Arts and Worship Coordinator at The Salvation Army Southern California coordinates music education and worship leadership across after-school programs, day camps, and Sunday services. This role requires strong musical ability, teaching skill, and a heart for mentoring youth and adults in a Christ-centered environment.

Responsibilities include leading youth group music, coordinating seniors' arts programs, and planning worship with the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, worship arts, ministry, or related field (or equivalent ministry experience).
• Experience teaching music to children and youth in a school or structured setting.
• Proven experience leading worship vocally and instrumentally (guitar or piano) in a church or ministry context.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead structured group music and creative arts education for youth in after-school programs.
• Plan and lead group music and creative arts classes for youth with progressive instruction and performances.
• Develop and lead group classes for seniors and adults with disabilities, including an evening class.
• Coordinate one dedicated music and creative arts week during Summer Day Camp.
• Prepare students for recitals and community performances, coordinating logistics and travel.
