Job summary

Snug Harbor seeks an Artistic Programming Coordinator to plan, develop, and implement exhibitions, residencies, performances, and related programs on Staten Island. The role blends administrative oversight with hands-on production, collaborating with curators, artists, and partners.

The ideal candidate has arts programming experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced nonprofit environment. Weekend/evening availability is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in arts, arts administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience combining administrative and hands-on production capacity in visual or performing arts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team; adaptable and diplomatic.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative assistance across program development, production, and documentation.
  • Plan and execute public programming in collaboration with Director & Sr. Curator, artists, and partners.
  • Coordinate residencies, performances, gallery talks, and special events; manage schedules, budgets, and timelines.
  • Support marketing, promotion, social media, and outreach for arts programs.
  • Liaise with artists on contracts, scheduling, and logistics; assist with event run-of-show and front-of-house tasks.
