Apple Inc. in Culver City, CA seeks a Senior Developer Experience Engineer to own the developer experience, tooling, and workflows for creative engineering teams. You will collaborate with multiple engineering groups to define how work gets done and ensure delivery aligns with goals.
The role emphasizes building and evolving internal tools, instrumentation, and AI-assisted workflows to accelerate development and improve quality across projects in a fast-paced environment.
Culver City, California, United States Software and Services
At Apple, how well a creative engineering organization runs and evolves is by design. Our artists and engineers work at the cutting edge of many disciplines and technologies, and the developer experience behind them — the tools, the systems, the workflows — has to evolve just as quickly, so that teams building complex, multifaceted creative projects can amplify their creativity and ship with confidence. This is an ideal role for an engineer who has spent time on both sides of delivery — writing the code, and shaping how the work gets done — and wants a role where both of those skills count.
In this role, you'll own the rapidly evolving developer experience: the tools, the workflows, and the day-to-day practices our engineers build with. You'll identify the highest-impact problems and address them through tooling changes, process changes, or direct conversations. Finding the right fix for each problem is your responsibility. You'll report directly to the org leader with their full support. Working closely with multiple specialized engineering teams, you'll own the systems, workflows, and approaches that help them reach their goals. You won't be starting from scratch: tooling and delivery reporting already exist and are in active use, and you'll determine where they go and what to build next.
