Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking an accountant to review financial reporting produced by third party management for a group of properties in receivership, with some self-managed properties requiring full reporting including budgeting and cash management. You will maintain general ledgers, perform monthly reconciliations, and prepare comprehensive reporting packages with variances explanations for management and auditors.

A strong GAAP background and CRE knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial real estate accounting experience with multiple property types preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP (specifically real estate) and understanding of property management in relation to financial accounting.
• Experience with Yardi desired.
• Proficiency in PC-based software such as Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review third party management reporting including: comparing provided reports to court-ordered reports, confirming correctness of property, period and basis; verifying bank reconciliations; confirming balance sheet support; ensuring net income ties to retained earnings and rolls forward correctly from prior month reporting.
• Maintain general ledgers for self-managed properties including monthly journal entries and bank reconciliations.
• Understand accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), cash receipts and lease administration within commercial real estate and how they drive financial results.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages with analyses and support schedules for the assigned portfolio of self-managed properties.
• Prepare annual expense reconciliation schedules and billings to tenants with Property Managers as needed for self-managed properties.
• Prepare detailed interim and year-end working papers and support schedules requested by internal and external auditors.
