Job summary

Wintrust is hiring a Portfolio Manager I, CRE in Chicago to manage a commercial real estate loan portfolio. You will perform financial analysis, assess risk, and prepare credit memos for a variety of asset types including multifamily, office, and retail.

The role requires 2+ years in CRE credit or lending, solid analytical and writing skills, and proficiency in cash flow modeling and financial statement analysis. This on-site role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• Minimum 2 years’ commercial real estate credit, portfolio management and/or commercial lending experience.
• Strong analytical and business writing skills.
• Experience with cash flow modeling, lease abstracting and financial statement analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate financial analysis, profitability, and risk assessment to make lending decisions on new, renewal, and extension loans for assets: multifamily, office, medical office, industrial, retail, and self-storage.
• Create comprehensive, detailed, and thoughtful opportunity memos and full credit approvals for new business clients including background, history, market experience and global real estate portfolio.
• Independently analyze credit and financial information of property and individuals to determine risk associated with credit extension.
• Oversee documentation and ongoing monitoring of asset and client performance.
• Work with relationship managers and loan administration to facilitate loan closings, modifications, and renewals.
• Proactively manage covenant compliance testing for existing and new clients.
• Review and process construction draws with loan administration, title company and borrower.
• Interact with lending staff, deal teams and clients in a welcoming and professional manner.
